U13 doesn’t matter. What matters is if those girls are being developed properly to win when they are older. It sounds like syc 2012 is off to a great start though.

That is a hell of a lot of clubs for only that many people, might even be more than the DFW area of Texas, which has a higher population and I'm pretty sure less clubs.
Places like DFW and Socal have huge latin communities. They grew up with and have played soccer their entire lives. They know all the tricks and they know what quality soccer looks like.
Unfortunately many NoVA clubs are just cash registers aimed at rich parents.

If Union's 06/07s hang on to 2nd place, they have to also finish better than the 2nd place team in the Ohio Valley conference, and Ohio Valley plays in the Spring so we won't know for awhile. I would give them a half a spot based on where they are now.
Top 2 teams go, no?

Smokin the good stuff huh?
No. This is 100% true.

Not developing teams to be showcased at the playoff event is a detriment to all.
I think all would like to go and work towards it. But no you do not need to be on a good team to be heavily recruited. Just about every ECNL player on every team will be recruited.
Even with the new proposed roster limits? That doesn't seem likely.
Yes even with roster limits. I said recruited though -- not committed. I did that on purpose. Playing in college is a choice where you have to match the soccer with the education. You might get offers and decide it is not worth the education trade off. A girl that is a top student probably is not taking the lower mid-major even if D-1.
But almost all girls on our local teams are committed.

Below is a list of teams currently in playoff positions going into the last few games of the year (minus 2012 and 2011 teams which still have an entire spring of matches)
Arlington: 3 Teams - 2012, 2011, 2009
Beach: 0 Teams
Fairfax: 2 Teams - 2012, 2010
NVA: 1 Team - 2012
Richmond: 4 Teams - 2012, 2011, 2009, 2008
VDA: 5 Teams - 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007/2006
The most concerning thing is the lack of older teams that are in playoff positions in the local area. Maybe other markets are doing a better job at developing, or maybe they just have better players.
Wow VDA 5 teams and NVA only have 1 team?
