(it doesn't work both ways)

Why doesn’t it work both ways?

Because women are looking to sign a contract and a man who hasn't signed a contract in his life is much much less likely to sign one than a divorced man.

Yeah. I’d say so. Red flag. Something’s off. Even if he was military or peace corp for 15+ years abroad.

He doesn't have expenses related to kids(529, sports, insurance, clothes, you name it etc)
You will never have to be a step mom with him he can give you your own kids
He has more free time no 50% custody
He has no ex wife issue
He is probably still in good shape and health
Since he has never been married and subsequently dumped he still has mostly positive views of women
And on and on

Why wouldn't such a guy be the dream man to s y single woman?

100% this. Even if it raises red flags that he's been slow to commit, I'd take a chance on a never-married 40+ man over a man with kids and an ex-wife 10 times out of 10.

Same! I think about this all the time that some poor woman is going to think she hit the jackpot with my ex and get sucked in to the trauma and drama

Perhaps you were his trigger. Women who file for divorce don't have a rearview mirror. Maybe another woman will bring a different side of him. Every divorced woman thinks she is special.

I mean I guess if she's into lying, cheating, gaslighting manipulators withanger issues, enjoys holes being punched in her walls followed by threats of suicide that she has to de-escalate then more power to her.

Our exDH’s sound alike.

What triggers them is being attached to someone. The minute the relationship starts they will be off to the races. It might improve because they might be more cautious. But I know that I didn’t cause it and I can’t cure it. My kids now tell me “daddy has mood swings.”

Make sure the sex is good. Make sure he is capable of having sex.
