They had to be. They were so loud like you could hear them from four aisles away. Just being so insanely loud for the whole store to hear. Then they paced back and forth around the check out lanes trying to find a cashier they liked and they were hollering for all of us in line to hear. It was so uncomfortable.

Native San Franciscan here. Having lived in both SF and DC, DC doesn’t come even remotely close to some of the weird sh*t you see in SF regularly. I pretty much just block it out as well.

I’d assume that mom was on drugs and her kid was just being a kid and enjoying his mom’s full attention , and no one had ever taught him how to behave in public.

Some of the grossest things I come across in health care. I saw a mom sitting her baby on the floor of our exam room with snacks - no plate no napkin just snacks directly on the floor and the kid was eating them off the floor. I didn’t tell her that the patient before had vomited on the floor because I figure she clearly didn’t care, but, it was hard to look past as I took the baby’s history from the parent.
