OP here. How big are the rosters for U14 & U15? DD plays for a large club on the ECNL-RL team and it's impossible to crack into our club's ECNL team. She is considering trying out for FVU in the spring but if DD doesn't make that team, wondering if any RL teams get priority or looks from FVU for guest players or eventual promotion to FVU.
Let me guess you are at Arlington and you’re finally over watching kids from other clubs with similar talent get chosen over one of the RL kids.
I’m guessing you nailed it
Multiple Arlington RL players have been promoted and played the season with the Arlington ECNL U15 team over each of the past 2 years. Find a different team to hate on.
Arlington U15G ECNL is any other club’s RL team at best. Try any other age group and let’s talk.
That team sits mid table with a winning record. They have a pretty good defense and played a tight game against top-ranked Union in WAGS. Their RL team is also one of the best in the area, finishing first last season and second this season.
You must be thinking of a different age group. U15G did not play Union at WAGS. Arlington didnt make it to the final.

If you’re already @ U15 and on Arlington RL, you’re cooked. Only way DC gets a spot on the top team is if someone from the outside (who was invited to join ahead of said child) decides to go elsewhere.
RL is purgatory. A place where a kid’s football dream goes to die. Arlington is more than happy to give you a little dash of hope to extract another $3K out of your pocket. You’ve been warned.

100% true

Every team is going to games with 6-7 subs, and leaving 4-6 kids back home sitting around, because those kids can’t play with the partner ECNL-RL either, those RL teams already have 6-7 subs as well. The whole thing is a mess.
Please stop spreading blatant misinformation. On the girls’ side, the 10s and 12s have 17, and the 11s 19. Some of these players are hurt. This is not an issue for half of their teams.

LOL. ECNL. Thanks for the laugh.
