At best, Zimmerman is using the BoE position as a stepping stone to a career in politics. At worst, she's a workaround to giving the union a spot on the board. She doesn't have any kids the system, she won't feel the impact that of any BoE decisions would have on kids.
Both Zimmerman and Diaz are absolutely terrible candidates that don't belong anywhere near the board.
Zimmerman seems wonderful to me.
She may be a wonderful person and a wonderful teacher, but she's a terrible candidate for the board.
Sure, how awful it would be for a wonderful person and a wonderful teacher to be on the board of education.![]()
Not only that, the BOE has 9 members, right? No one member can get much done unless 4 others sign on.
That's more of an argument in favor of Diaz.

Well, your choice isn't a unicorn candidate that you conjure from your imagination. It's between someone you think is sup-optimal, and someone aligned with the worst elements of US society/discourse.
Zimmerman was not my first choice, but she's the only choice I have left. Sometimes that how politics works.
That's how I feel when too, except it is driving me to Diaz rather than Zimmerman.

Nothing is wrong with Natalie Zimmerman. She will be an informed, well-reasoned member of the board of education should she win. Having a sane, experienced teacher on the board of education is a good thing, people.
I’m def voting for her but am curious if she will step down from teaching. I don’t see how she could teach and do the number of hearings and meetings they have during school hours.

She has to, per the bylaws.

Anonymous wrote:My friend worked with Brenda Diaz at GHS. She was an absolute nightmare who terrorized her colleagues and was put on leave for her unprofessionalism. No way should she be considered for BOE. Be careful with your vote
