He was white and affluent, so they threw the book at him. Prosecutor even said as much.

Hopefully, once Trump is inaugurated, the current USAO will be replaced and DC will finally have some prosecutions. Ideally, we'll have a federal takeover of DC. Looking at crime over the past ten years, it's clear that this City Council is worse than hopeless. They are actively aiding and abetting violent crime in this city with their pro-crime policies.

If that doesn't happen, I suspect more people will do concealed carry. Carjackings aren't going to stop until these teenagers understand there are consequences.

Maybe if they jack the illegal mopeds enough two crimes will end up cancelling out the moped problem. It’ll be too dangerous to ride mopeds around, therefore they’ll stop.

If you are carjacking someone, I don't care if you are 12 or 45. You do the crime, you do the time. I don't want to hear the BS about "he or she is only a child", "their brain isn't developed", they had a hard life. Crime = Time, period.

Four teens carjack a couple's car in a Bethesda parking garage last year. The oldest teen was 19 from Potomac, MD. was sentenced 9 years. So I think they are getting tougher in MOCO.

This. Amazed you are released after an armed robbery.

Up to age 26, he is a “juvenile offender” under DC law.

So he cannot be held in jail.

Presumably they still have to be released into parental custody though?

That's silly. They are an adult for purposes of release.

No. Wrong. A 25 year-old is NOT an adult in D.C.

They are for the purposes of gun, weed, and alcohol.

The human brain is not fully developed, and hence, not capable of making responsible adult decisions, until after age 25. This is a scientific fact.

Science is real.

This fact is why juveniles under age 25 cannot be held criminally responsible for their actions.

Except they can drink alcohol at 21, buy a gun at 18, and vote & drive at 16 in DC.

Like I said, science is real, in D.C.

Oh I love this. Trust the Science you bigots!!
