Hmmm…I love dogs and horses, would never eat them but cows , shrimp , salmon, halibut, tuna, and chickens no. I have no love for a cow, a chicken and have never encountered a pet or wild shrimp out frolicking. OP are you really an all animal lover? Are you sure you aren’t OK eradicating rats, termites and cockroaches if you saw them in your house?

I can see being a vegetarian because you think it’s healthier or more sustainable..though please put almonds and avocados on your list to avoid….however chickens, cows , fish and shrimp? Nope, really doubt you love them.

It is very hard to stop eating meat as a Westerner who was raised on it. Don't be to hard on yourself--reducing the consumption as you are doing is wonderful and will heve long term benefits.

Even in Auyrvedic medicine, meat is okay and even prescribed to eat for certain conditions. Be kind to yourself.

I am flexitarian and was vegetarian for almost 10 years. I think that a good starting point is to focus on reducing meat, but not eliminating it completely. Definitely look for sustainably, humanely farmed options. Then you can focus on cuisines with lots of vegetarian options - Mexican, Indian, Mediterranean.
Meat substitutes are fine options too - I like Daring, Abbot, and Beyond - but they are highly processed so wouldn’t recommend them at every meal.

Personally, I like some of the fake meats. Beyond Sausage is great and I like the burgers too (esp. loaded up with toppings).

When I went vegetarian 9-10 years ago, I just gradually cut out meat and eventually just didn't crave it anymore. I rarely have issues eating out. The only time it's remotely inconvenient to be a vegetarian is Thanksgiving. I'm very happy eating sides but get tired of people commenting about it.
