TCU, to a certain extent but not SMU level (lots of California money coming in for all those kids who can't break through the UC system)

What is SMU like?

The girlz are foyine.

The girls look like 40 year olds who haven't aged well (too tan, too blond)

Beauty is in the beholder, just because you prefer pasty, purple hair, and nose rings doesn't make tan and blond ugly.

Any elite school with an per-student-endowment of $800k or above is going to attract a significant amount of FGLI and lower middle class through financial aid. So while schools like Dartmouth, Williams, Amherst, and Bowdoin have a lot of rich kids, they also have a significant portion of poor kids. The real rich-kid schools, IME, are usually in just below the super elite tiers (ranked above T25) but still have cachet and have stingy financial aid because of their smaller endowments--e.g., NYU, USC, Colorado College, Midd, Wake Forest, etc. There are exceptions though--Wesleyan, for example, doesn't have a huge endowment, but is very generous with their financial aid.

Anecdotally, SMU and TCU for super wealthy but academically average American students. And lots of rich international students at NYU, BU, and USC.

Lots of crazy international $$$$ at Cornell. Kids driving Bentleys, G-Wagons, mostly from abroad (asia).

This is true at all the top schools. Friend of a friend roomed with an Oligarch’s daughter at Duke. And our friend’s son’s freshman roommate was Uber-wealthy from Spain. He was never around because he spent as much time as possible in NYC.

Give it a rest already.

+1

To paraphrase Regina George, “Stop trying to make “The Street” + Bucknell happen. It’s not going to happen.”

Seriously, this person is hilarious. They just can’t seem to help themself ….

Almost every private top 40 plus the top slacs are filled with rich kids. Northeastern, BU, and Tulane are not filled with rich kids -- well to do maybe but not rich. Kids or normal doctors or even biglaw partners are well to do but not rich. Rich is another level. And there are tons of rich kids at all the top schools.

Lots of BOTTOM schools have rich kids, actually, who can't get in other places so their parents just buy them a spot. Look up celebrity kids and stuff.

Georgetown, AU (less so but still above average); University of Edinburgh in Scotland; DUKE in the US, Stanford.

St. Andrews, too. Some of the richest NE boarding schools send 5-6 girls per year there.

I was going to sat St. Andrews. I know several wealthy families with kids there now. It does seem like a place for kids who can't get into the top prestigious US colleges.
