My mom was 27 and my dad was 35 when they had me, their firstborn. I was a 1979 kid.

I was 34 and my husband was 32; 2013 kid.

Once. When my dad took me to an alumni lunch at an Ivy club, lol. I was 21.

It’s too early in the morning for stupid math problems.

Age is more important. If you’re over 40 your parents most likely had kids in their 20s. Not all but more often than not.

I am. But I lost both parents by the age of 22, so the argument that having kids younger gives you more time with them doesn't hold much weight with me. I had mine later, it is what it is.

I’m Gen x and most of my friends parents are not more than 30 years older. I’m 35 and 40 years older than my kids.

I am for both of my parents. They were 26 when I was born and had been married for 18 months or so. My sibling was born when they were 31 and 32, though.

I am third generation of 30s/40s moms. I think we are way more rare than the <30.

Yes. My mom had 3 kids at 31, 34 and me at 37. However I have many friends whose parents had them at < 25 yrs old and their parents have passed away years ago in their 50s - 70s. My mom taught some of those parents that have passed away in elementary school. So having kids young does not mean you will be around longer.

I'm an elder millennial (born in '82) when my parents were ages 30 & 31. I remember being so embarrassed by my "old" parents in elementary school when compared to my peers parents. My mom didn't fit in with the other younger moms and I think it definitely hurt me socially. I didn't get as many playdate invites. My parents friends were all their ages and had older kids so when we went to dinner parties or other parties, it was always me hanging solo, all the parents, and all their teenage kids.

I noticed things were the opposite now. The kids in elem. school with younger parents are the "outcasts" whose parents tend to keep to themselves or with one other set of parents. Most of the parents of the kids are in their 30s or 40s. And I only say "outcasts" because kids don't exclude kids because of their parents. Kids are taught TO exclude other kids for one reason or another.
