I used compounded semaglutide from Henry Meds. $300 a month. Went from 220 to 175 pounds in five months. Minimal side effects

You can do Ivim. I did and it was affordable (I think under $250/mo but mine was a 3 month deal for around $600) Side effects were too bad for me so I had to stop, was not obese, just overweight.

I used HIMS based on my internist’s recommendation as I had been on Wegovy and it was expensive at about $1200 per four weeks. HIMS is about $250 a month but it is not as convenient. I lost almost 20 pounds in about 11 weeks and then I plateaued for four weeks. I’ve lost 2 pounds in the last week so maybe I’m moving down again. Only issue for me has been some fatigue in early afternoon. It definitely makes me feel fuller faster and I’m getting use to putting less on a plate which I hope will be enduring behavior. It was so easy to lose weight in my 30’ and 40’s but since then it’s been a real struggle until now.

I would be cautious about medspas. I have seen things on Reddit that are truly scary - medspas supplies pre-filled syringes as storage NOT a best practice; medspas NOT indicating dosages in any paperwork keeping those who are paying in the dark and returning; medspas NOT assuring people if the Tirz is coming from an FDA inspected facility or heaven knows where. I would go to Emerge.com. So simple.

I’d recommend Head 2 Toe Health or Kelly Goodman NP. Dr Eig also used to do this. But Head 2 Toe treated my friend and provides great care!

Kelly Goodman's office has a weight loss clinic.

Best bet is to use one of the online docs and lie about your weight so that you "qualify."

You actually don’t even need to lie about your weight. I weighed 175 and was a size 10 in jeans and in general look cute enough. Was pretty shocked to discover that I had a BMI that put me in the obese range and was prediabetic. So thankful I started this treatment!

To the poster who replied above, could you share the name or practice of your provider in Bethesda? This sounds like what I need! Thanks

My friends who did Ozempic to lose a bit of weight, like before weddings, for a big trip, after having kids, etc. all put it back on once they stopped.

Ozempic slows your digestion so you feel full longer. It doesn't do anything to cure the underlying issues of not eating the correct foods or exercising. So, you stop the shot and the weight comes right back plus some.

This is incorrect, to the point of misinformation. Semiglutides DO actually affect “the underlying issues” in that it combats insulin resistance, a real condition in a lot of people which affects metabolism and how certain foods are processed and stored (and craved, btw). Speculation is that it is a diabetes-like condition they are still researching. That’s why they aren’t right for every overweight person and work way better on some than others.

The idea that it is simply an appetite suppressant is wrong. Please do not comment without knowledge, this could mislead people.

That’s the trick. I am PP that recommended head2toe health. I ended up ordering online after because I moved away from the area and
I needed to do everything under the sun to lose the weight. Calorie deficit. Rigorous exercise , walking, strength training, fiber, hydration. Sleep. All of it!! Only Semaglutide made the weight come off!!

You can get it through med-spas or a nurse practitioner perhaps. They get the compound from a random pharmacy. Not claiming it’s the best or right way but it’s for people who wouldn’t qualify at a Dr. you have to pay out of pocket. But I did it and it came out to about $200 a month. I’ve lost 10lbs in 3 months, so it’s not quick but I had been trying to lose those 10 pounds for years and years and years. And I feel so much better.

The majority of people who lose weight through diet and exercise gain it all back as well.

diet and exercise also don't "cure the underlying issues of not eating correct foods or exercising"

I lost 70 about 6 years ago with no help of drugs and gained it all back. My doctor put me on Ozempic 3 years ago. I lost 60 and never gained any back. So please stop this nonsense. Knuckle and bearing doesn't do anything "to cure the underlying issues of not eating the correct foods or exercising." You still have to eat right and exercise on these drugs. It's not magic.
