If I could swing 2-2.5 weeks of vacation from work, I would probably do it. But probably only if it’s someone I am close to, whose wedding I really want to attend.

Seriously parent bullies are the worst. Reminds me of when during covid before my young child was eligible for a vax my parents relentlessly bullied me to take my child to a family event. Me going myself wasn't acceptable to them.

Heck, hardly any of DH's extended family was willing to travel from Texas to DC for our wedding! I would have zero remorse about not attending an international wedding.

If you don’t want to go , I wouldn’t go but I wouldn’t mind taking an elementary schooler out of school for a week to travel. My kids have been out for a week due to illness a few times and they didn’t seem to miss that much.
