“Okay. I’ve got to go. Take care.”
They don’t know that I know they own three houses. So this will be surprising to them!
OP
Why are you snooping around on them op? You sound jealous. Maybe you should stop buying lattes.
And do they own the houses, or are they paying off loans on the houses?
Why would you assume I am snooping? Another person mentioned it to me.
You assume a lot and seem to think you are correct when you are incorrect. Nice trait to have, bro.
Go back to your basement, Mr. Troll.
OP
So you’re basing your judgement on gossip. Good job!!

So should they just shut up and keep it to themselves while you get to talk about your ordinary life?
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Are they actually saying they are poor or that they just can't afford a Starbucks coffee?
The former is an income problem, the latter is about personal priorities.
I can't afford a Starbucks coffee either but that's because, to me, it's not worth the cost.
This was my first thought. Technically I can afford Starbucks but never buy it since I think it’s overpriced. My house is worth well over 1M. If this annoys you, try saying “yes, it’s overpriced coffee, we all have things we like to spend our money on”. And change the topic.

So I take them at their word, rather than their subtext: Don't feel bad, people go through phases, and right now you can't afford coffee, but eventually you'll have your finances in order.
