That's incorrect. They actually practice a lot of soccer possession drills, passing accuracy, and many other technical aspects. The practices are much better run than in some other places, where the same things are repeated non-stop with no purpose. It's also well known that further development usually requires individual training outside of the club.

2010 they are imploding, that age group was good
Just a forced change on coaching. The team has only lost one game this season. The are ahead of DC United. Not sure why you say they are imploding? That is not true at all, the new coach is very good as well.
See! Winning is the focus of SYC. Don’t expect any development, just lots of social media posturing. If your player is just an ok player and want to ride the coattails of a winning MLSNext team, SYC is for you. If you have a long term goal for your player to play in college or more and actually get playing time, do not go to SYC.

Their MLS Next academy director recently relocated to a different state. He is working remotely but obviously no longer coaching the 2012s or 2010s. He is however coaching for his new local club.

It sucks for the 6 selected to play in the second team specially if they vary every week. it reflects adult soccer but it is too premature for youth.

At our MLSNext club, there are 24 on the roster. 18 are called up for games. That consists of starters, regular subs, and about 3-4 who are not called up every week. However, everyone called up on game day gets playing time. Those who are not called up on game day play for the second team.

what's the roster size for these clubs? I hear it is a lot of kids and they keep moving kids back and forth from top team to 2nd team. anybody know? It looks like a bad situation for young kids u13/u14.

OP you expressed interest in USYNT ID and those teams all regularly have players who are invited at the local level. Those are heavily coach recommendations so u would need to pick a club where the coach thinks ur player is baller and will play him as the best or one of the best players on the team. Not saying that won’t happen, but it would be difficult.

OP - Why do you want to switch clubs? If your DS isn't getting playing time, then you might want to reconsider MLS next and go to a club where he gets playing time.
if you want better training, then you will need to go to practices.
