The two couples mentioned so far also have huge social media presences. I’m guessing that’s the correlating - and causing - factor. Not being gen z.

I wish I could have had children younger. I don't see what the big deal is. Think of how young you'll be when the nest empties!

I got married at 23 and had my first at 26, in law school. People acted like I was a teen mom. It was ridiculous. I’ve been married for 17 years and I’m really happy with my choices. I have health problems now that could have kept me from having kids in my 30s. So I’m really glad I got that done in my 20s and I would recommend for my children to do the same.

At the same time, I was fairly mature at 23 and knew what I wanted. I knew DH was a good partner.

I encourage you to look within and think about why your response to beautiful wedding photos and discussion of young love is to be nasty and predict divorces.


Oh c’mon. How many celebrity marriages make it past 10 years, much less ones that start out so young? I wish them the best, but they’ll be fine whether they stay together or not.

I don’t see this trend happening with middle class and lower Gen Z. My cousin’s daughter (born 1999) is getting married next year, will be 26 as will her fiance, and she is by far the first of her friends to get married. I got married at 25 and had been to SO many weddings by that point. 24-27ish was peak wedding age.

I’ve noticed it too, although I didn’t know it was a trend. I know a few couples in their 20’s getting married. My niece got married at 22 just after graduating college from a top 25 school.

They will miss out on a lot of fun, I loved being single in my 20s, the excitement of going out, meeting people, really dating (not faux hs/college “dating” which just means a lot of texting and phone calls).

Also isn’t this the group that says they missed out on such “important” life events like prom, “normal” college experiences, etc due to covid? So why wouldn’t they want to socialize some more?
