Pp here. I just finished it. Every chapter was narrated by Lucy. No one else. So strange.

Were some chapters transcripts from Ben's podcast? Not sure if I'm remembering that right. Maybe those are supposed to be from his perspective?

I returned the book, but the podcasts were not chapters. So it would say 36 Lucy. And then 3 pages later the podcast would start. Like it was a part of the chapter. The next page would say 37 Lucy.

I started this as an audiobook in September and couldn't finish it before my Libby loan expired. I commented on the September thread that I couldn't keep up with the characters and probably needed the book. I put it on hold so I'll try it again when it becomes available.

Revenge of the Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell. Only halfway through but enjoying it so far.

Empress of the Nile by Lynne Olson ... from the library. It was recommended by a friend because I lived in Egypt. Fascinating history of archeology as well as Egyptian history.

Just finished God of the Woods...a little long but I really enjoyed it and read it quickly. I'm now reading The Wedding People and really liking it so far!

I just finished The Berry Pickers. I enjoyed it, but it was sad/depressing.
Just started Sandwich.

I just started God of the Woods by Liz Moore and it has sucked me right in. It takes place at a summer camp in the Adirondacks and one of the girls goes missing, bringing up a plot line from 8 years previous when her brother disappeared as well. I'm loving it -hope it stays good through the end.

Reading "Lies and Weddings: A Novel" by Kevin Kwan. 20% into the book, and it's fun. I liked Crazy Rich Asians, so expected to like this book too. Takes place in England and Hawaii, so far. Funny, although a number of things I need to look up (designers, designer drugs, etc) so I'm glad I'm reading on my Kindle.

Just finished Tom Lake. I thought it was slow. And I’m not a person who needs an overly plot-driven, well, plot. But somehow stuff both happened and didn’t happen in that book? It was well-written and I liked a lot of the author’s language and how everything is slowly revealed over time. But still. In the end it was like (vague spoilers) “oh we got married somehow and xxx died in a yacht accident ain’t that crazy, anyway back to the farm!”

Just starting The Great Glorious Goddamn of It All by Josh Ritter. It’s written like an epic folktale. So far it is entertaining.

Long Island Compromise from the same author who wrote Fleishmann. It’s long and has multiple perspectives, pretty good, it reminds me of a Jewish Succession.

I'm reading this now, and I'm almost finished. I don't know that I would recommend it. The author at times seems semi aware that she is the reason for her divorce, addiction, and inability to move forward, but she comes from such a place of privilege, that it's so difficult to feel much empathy. She lied her way into a career, a marriage, and society and then can't cope when that starts falling apart. She's the ultimate con. Then when she finally does get herself to rehab, she continues to make poor choices. The only people I felt sorry for was her now ex-husband and kids. I'm sure it's more complicated than I am relaying, but she keeps everything surface level and really doesn't do an adequate job of showing any actual struggle or reason behind her lies and choices.
