Be cause they can't spend $ figuring out a bus tracking app?
Or because they don't have $ for postage to mail out mcap test reports on time??

MCAP is a state test. Not sure why MCPS has to get involved. You need to talk to your state representative.

But it does make you wonder who is leading these initiatives and projects. They definitely need project managers, and good lord, their general counsel should have been there today. Her absence was notable.
MCPS General Counsel loves to hide, even though their hand is behind a lot of dysfunction in MCPS.
MCPS general counsel is the one that should be replaced for not reviewing the contract or if they did not clearly protecting their client’s interest.
There has been a revolving door of attorneys in the GC office over the past couple of years. They need competence and stability there!

Key takeaway - They need a modern Contracts management system, process, and better Audit/Control process. They should look for a better General Counsel or attorneys than who helped with the EV Bus contract. They need better internal training and compliance procedures.
Based on the Financial Mgmt committee meeting they are putting into place a better Contract Mgmt system. It's supposed to be in testing soon. Don't know when it will come online because they need better Project/Program management.
So, no consequences for their financial mismanagement that hurts students. Time to vote out the current BOE.
These are things McKnight and Hull pushed through, and they're gone.

It's insane that Crouse has been able to hide out for as long as she has. MCAAP is really MCPS's most powerful union.
What has Crouse got to do with the IG report hearing? (Nothing.)
She's just another example of MCPS's track record moral bankruptcy, corruption, coverup and failed leadership. Similar to what was on display at this Audit Committee hearing.
I know! Don't even get me started on the bacci sets!

This should be a priority for Taylor. After losing two highly qualified and experienced general counsels, McKnight settled for one of her cronies who has no experience in the type of law needed to be the GC for a school system.
