I do remember a woman eating sunflower seeds in the train once and was discarding the shells just on the ground next to her seat, disgusting.

And yes, there are mice and rats. If you've ever looked between the concrete barrier and the curved wall, you've probably seen them.

I am grossed out just imagining her putting the sunflower seeds in her mouth and or taking them out of the shells. Either way, her hand (that touched probably touch the turnstile, the seat in front of her, and other things ) is really really close to her mouth. Yuk!!

When I first moved here from NY 20+ years ago I didn't realize that you couldn't eat on the Metro. I remember eating a snack and getting nasty glares from people on the train. I learned quickly and grew to appreciate that everyone (mostly) followed the rules about food and drink on the train. I'm glad we are moving back towards that.

It’s better for the environment if you would take public transportation. Many of don’t “need” to, we just know it’s the more responsible thing to do.

+ 1 and I enjoy it too. I loathe driving. Far prefer metro. Buses are ok too.
