If you paid $45 for two people at Taco Bell, you ordered tons and tons and TONS of food. Did you each get a party pack?!

It’s not the inflation that’s killing us anymore, it’s the lazy restaurants who can’t be bothered to cook good food anymore. And we definitely need a meals tax. Every area around us has one and we are missing out on tax revenue from non county residents.

Yes, inflation is killing us. Now the idiots on the Fairfax Board of Supervisors are considering a meals tax. If they do that we will eat of even less.

Nope.

You have to order the $5 value meals. McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's all have them now. If you try to order off of the regular menu its highway robbery. Burger King calls it "Your Way Meal", Wendy's calls it a "Biggie Bag" and McDonald's calls it a "$5 Meal Deal." They are all $5 and include a small burger, 4 nuggets, a small fry and a drink.

And yes, without sports I wouldn't be caught dead any of these places.

Caffeine is good for your heart health this week.

Gosh please tell me when red wine is back on the healthy list. I cannot wait.

Never. Current research on wine is confirming the studies completed a few years ago that indicated any amount was ultimately bad for you, with significantly increased risks for multiple types of cancer, as well as liver issues, cognitive decline, and cardiovascular disease (stroke, atrial fibrillation, infarction, etc).

However, it's true that coffee news is good - but it doesn't mean you should overdose on caffeine, especially if you have high blood pressure, and drinking copious amounts can affect your sleep, cause stomach issues (it's very acidic) and decrease the strength of your bones and teeth. Also, it sure as heck doesn't mean that the crap drinks with tons of added sugar are in any way good for you. No loaded drinks at Starbucks, you'll increase your risk of diabetes.

Yes, but it’s a mix of quality and price for me.

Costs too much.

We have cut way back.

Yes absolutely. Fast food is stupid expensive, as are middle of the road places like Sweetwater.

We only get it in a pinch, and then DH and I will very occasionally go somewhere actually nice.

I'm with all the posters saying that it's just too disappointing to eat out. You spend so much and then just kick yourself.

I have been spending money to splurge a bit more at the supermarket. A few more prepared items, but nothing crazy since supermarkets are price-gouging too.

Anonymous wrote:If you got $45 of food from Taco Bell for two people, that’s on you. Here is the group menu, so don’t try to BS us; you literally could have gotten a MEAL FOR FOUR for $20.83. You literally could have added a DRINKS PARTY PACK for $4. There’s also a veggie meal for 2, so don’t try to backtrack and pull that card.

If you ate more than that, you are total pigs and nothing more to be said.

Seriously, OP. I want to see what items you ordered. I could easily feed myself and my carpool full of 3 tween swim team boys for $45. Easily.

Yes. I should have done it years earlier too.

Preparing my lunches and snacks for the week every Sunday night saved money and helped with a 30 pound weight loss.

I make my own almond milk latte with a stovetop coffee maker in a few minutes.

When I've gone out to eat recently, I've paid more for less - the steak tacos I recently ordered were all lettuce and sour cream. I really pick and choose which places are worth it.

uber eats/door dash is an absolute no.
