Picked up the Subaru Gold extended warranty for $1500 (after negotiation), which covers everything except wearables for 7 years/100k miles. Not sure how they could offer that deal if their cars are a piece of sh*t.
Same poster. We also bought the first four years of maintenance at half price. The dealer literally showed us all the required maintenance, their current cost for the services, and we negotiated it from $1600 to $800. The savings paid for half of the extended warranty mentioned above. I’m guessing that they make money on the maintenance deal in two ways: 1) if you’re always coming to the dealership for service, you might buy another car from them or continue service there after four years, and 2) if you move from the area, you’re toast because the deal is with the specific dealership, so you’ve paid for maintenance you won’t receive.
