Subject: Idea for cars for DH / future kid car
Corolla/Civic
Mazda3
Sentra
I've driven all 3 of these because I prefer smaller cars. Corolla and Civic for quality and reliability. Mazda 3 has an odd touchscreen and knob control that I'm not fond of. I do have the Sentra SV premium fully loaded now, but I really wanted a car with the bells and whistles which I can't get from a Corolla or Civic unless I upgrade to their luxury counterparts. The luxury price tag isn't worth it right now for my life.

As an Prius owner, these are very speedy compared to an SUV. I would worry about it encouraging fast driving.

It drives very tight to the road and accelerates fast. I think it feels way more like a race car than a Subaru suv etc.
I’m the original Prius suggested and…LOL ok. It is responsive, I guess? But that’s actually good for a kid learning to drive. A kid who wants to speed is going to speed. The idea that a Prius will encourage fast driving is silly.

+1. I would NEVER buy any of those cars for a teen. If someone gave me one for FREE I would sell it and buy something sensible.
This poster was prob joking? Actually, though, I'm guessing the G-Wagen is prob pretty safe in a wreck.
We gave our HS daughter our older model Mercedes SUV for safety reasons.
As to the PP's list, I'm guessing they live in Orange County or something, because who buys their kid a 150K G-wagon?
