OP, Your plan of getting together with Mom here and there sounds good.

I am so sorry OP. I lost my mom 22 years ago and still cry, not everyday but at least once a week.

Just love on her and be kind to yourself. It is life altering.

This is PP. Your role, 100%, is to be with your mom. I just went through this. My DH handled the kids for a month. I stayed with my Dad in Hospice (while working remote). Was it easy on my kids? No,it wasn't. At all. Would I change anything? No. There are times to put yourself ahead of others, and your mom/dad dying is one of them.

I'm sorry OP. My mom's funeral took place on the day that my oldest kid (her first granchild) turned 2yo. I'm so grateful she got to meet him. And yes, it's a lot harder if you're working. Try to appreciate what you've had and make sure your kids do as well. It will stick with them in so many important ways.
