My 8 yo is 43" and 44lbs so yeah, they are still in a car seat...because I care more about my child's life than what other people might think. Anyone with a petite child understands this.

She can sit on a booster as long as the seatbelt could run across her shoulder/chest instead of her neck.

Yeah we walk to school. So not an issue.

We switched in k for kiss n ride drop off and for comfort. Kid was probably around your child's height.
