I bet you are tired. Do you not need them to function? If so, actually either way, I would at least explain to her the consequence of what it does to your body if you cant take your meds and due to their being schedule 1 they cant be replaced. Explain schedule 1 and what would happen if kids or school told police. Beat that into her.

If she isnt mature to see risk is not worth time, effort and money, need to find out why she is doing it (money? bored? validation?). I suspect she has a lot to learn if she thought this was worth it, i.e not impoverished, and shed get away w it. Maybe tell her it is also a stupid use of her time. That might sink in.

She will prob be fine, but you dont want her taking on this role/risk in her social circles. Not worth it even just looking at time factor.

You cannot have your 16 year old daughter stealing controlled stimulants and selling them onward to other students. God knows what she's doing with the proceeds. Presumably she's not putting the money in a 529 and saving for college.

You have a big problem. Your daughter is on the edge of destroying other children's lives and getting into some serious criminal problems herself.

You need to have a serious talk about the drugs and how they allow people with ADHD to function. They are prescribed to people with ADHD for a reason. Your brain works differently. You need them if your daughter wants a roof over her head. Selling such drugs is an extremely serious criminal offense. She is of the age where if a DA wants to pursue it she could be charged as an adult and looking at years of jail time. If anyone she sold the drugs to gets hurt or commits a crime, that's on your daughter. And even more charges.

She is on the edge of catastrophe.

Fortunately, it's pretty easy to dole out discipline and consequences to teenagers these days. You take away her phone. It's gone for at least a month. You take away any access to money, and whatever cash you do give her, she needs to show receipts. Her non-school hours are now under strict supervision. Her only way out is to rebuild trust. She's probably using herself, so tell her one more screw up and she's off to rehab. She's looking at a month of suck. It's up to her how things go from there.

Sorry. Better to be a hard ass now, then a lifetime of this crap. You do not want a child going down this road. But the phone and her access to it is a remarkably convenient disciplinary tool. Use it.

Seems like adhd runs in the family. Sdhd can cause reckless and impulsive behaviors. How is your daughter being treated for the condition?

This isn’t true. Our medicine is in our medicine cabinet and not locked up. While I have not done a survey of our friends, I don’t know anyone who actually locks up drugs in their house.

I have had two siblings and one friend have their stomachs pumped as kids for taking various medications from their parents. I personally ate a whole box of chocolate laxatives as a kid. Lock up/and secure your medications folks

My kid is on stimulant ADHD drugs and I have never been advised to do this. It's not on prescription literature either.

It's a good idea. But not one I have ever been informed about.
