Well, Papa John's is just crap. Anyone should feel offended by such awful pizza.
Snob.
Tell me with a straight face that you think Papa John's is a quality product.

You have to let the stone come up to temp, the dough has to rise, good sauce needs a half hour to simmer. If I'm making pizza I usually decide at least 3 days beforehand and make bits of it ahead because it takes time and is messy
Pizza sauce is not supposed to be cooked. Fresh tomatoes swirled with an immersion blender, some basil thrown in, that’s all you need.

He makes a very good pizza we all agree, but sometimes our kids and myself want to get take out and not have to deal with dishes, kitchen clean up, etc. DH flat out refuses this and always says that his pizza is by far better than any take out options. it's frustrating because even on nights after we've been away all day or are exhausted from activities, he'll still insist that we make his pizza at home rather than pick one up. It takes hime awhile to make it, and it's not a good thing when we're starving and he's meticulously stretching the dough, grating cheeses, etc...
I know this is an odd problem, but I'm getting frustrated that he never seems to understand that sometimes it's about convenience as opposed to having his "superior" pizza, and the kids are always begging for a take out one and only get turned down by him saying his pizza is better than the local shops. We're so grateful that he always wants to make us pizza, but I just want him to be willing to order out at times!

OP here. I am Calle of ordering pizza on my own, but did you read my response where I explained how he reacted the last time I did this?
