Wanting the same opportunities as the social families and SAHM and work-from-home families is also valid. Wanting to know all of this before sending my kid into an unknown situation on Monday is also valid.

The social ones know already, and kids whose parents are not social with other families don’t get to find out until Friday, assuming their parents can take off work at 2:30pm to bring them to the meet and greet.
That’s another thing that’s annoying -having a meet and greet during work/camp hours.
Sounds like you are a parent new to public school. Most everything at school happens during school hours. Tough adjustment from daycare, but best to prepare yourself now.
Wrong. I am a current Lafayette parent and nothing happened during the work day previously except for parent teacher conferences.
And are the teachers at all these after school things? I’d be concerned that either teachers aren’t getting paid for extra work or the school is putting too much money into their admin premium fund and could be funding another staff position.

And meet and greets have always been during the school day. I am not sure how Lafayette ran these things in the past, but it is pretty standard across the board to do it this way.
Anonymous wrote:FYI, I have no idea if this is the case at Lafayette or not, but student privacy has become such a hot button issue for schools that it doesn't surprise me that a school would only tell you your kids particular teacher and not publicize the whole class list. FWIW.
