This proposal is literally the perfect example of inflation. Government injects “free” money into the economy; result is all prices go up.

Plus, now you have people buying houses who cannot afford them.

If everyone is given free $25,000 you know what I'll logically do in return? Automatically raise the price of my house by $25,000.

Cite any proof for this?

You can’t.

Stupid trumper.

As a single mother, currently working THREE jobs, I don’t want my kids to suffer the way I, and others have. I don’t know if this particular plan is a good idea, but I am all for helping first time home buyers and people with student loans. Even though I am neither.

So it will help a couple now and make it that much harder for the next group. This is not the way. Again, go after corporations owning residential properties and AirBnBs.

It's an absolutely idiotic proposal, like most of the crap she has in her economic platform.

Proves that she knows nothing about economics. We know she knows nothing about border control.

What is she skilled in, exactly?

Once I got it (150 years old farmhouse with 1100sq ft space), I had to gut it ALL with my own hands, learning how to do framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, pouring concrete subfloors, as I could not afford any contractors. Everything was properly inspected and approved by my local town and electrical inspectors.

After I paid my own down payment, NOW I HAVE TO CONTINUE WORKING LIKE A DOG TO FINANCE WITH MY FEDERAL INCOME TAXES $25,000 DOWNPAYMENT FOR OTHERS? Why? What do I owe all those people?

This is like saying it took me years to leave my abusive husband so I should Jan get to choose to leave hers after only a month.

You should be very proud of what you did but no one should have to struggle like you did and we have to course correct?

Agreed.

I guess we know which kind you are.

Amen. I couldn't agree more.

There are so many first time homebuyer programs in blue states especially and that’s actually what has driven up demand and prices.

We need to lower demand to make prices more stable

This!

And no more Chinese nationals allowed to park their money in the US by buying property (especially a problem in California).

Plus we should have additional taxes on any properties that are not the primary residence for the occupants.

And where is all the money to do this coming from???? Oh wait, let’s tax the rich because they don’t pay their fair share. How about people don’t have kids that they can’t afford or feel entitled to own a house somewhere they can’t afford to live. Plenty of jobs and houses that cost less than $100K in my hometown.
