There’s always a few people who buy their way onto an Olympic team. They rarely make the news like this, though.

What’s the statement? I don’t see one. She needs to come out and state it.
There’s so much low level creativity and lack of coordination, physicality, and musicality in break-dancing that she’s an Olympian?

The Hawk Tuah girl is a different kind of pathetic and an example of someone who confused notoriety over doing something vulgar with celebrity.
Rachel Gunn is more devious. This was an elaborate satire. It was brilliant. She punked the world.
The Hawk Tuah girl used her brief celebrity to sell a ton of merch and raise money for her local animals shelters. She's a down to earth young lady who understands social media and used her power for good.

It's not Hailey Welch's fault that the world is so weird in 2024 and that there is money in odd places.
I don't see how she is pathetic, unless we're calling all people of average brainpower pathetic. She ended up ALL OVER the internet. People started selling merch and making money based on something she said, and she didn't see a penny. So after laying low for some time she got a manager and a lawyer and now she's making money. She's been charitable (at least once).
I don't see how she's harming anyone. Whereas Raygunn made a mockery of an event featuring people who have been working for years.

How did this happen? Why did it happen?
I think it was an elaborate piece of performance art to satirize something that never should have been a part of the Olympics in the first place.
I don’t understand how the audience and even she herself were not laughing and guffawing out loud during any of her three convulsion acts.

DP. No. But I went to college with Sunny Choi (the American breakdancer that competed). She’s honestly a legitimate athlete so it’s really unfortunate that this weird woman has sucked up all of the oxygen around that competition and ultimately led to it being discontinued next Olympics.
Oh give me a break it was discontinued before the comp even started. Each host country gets to choose their elective sports to add and the USA picked other things like baseball, softball and cricket.
