My kid just graduated from Vanderbilt. He played violin in the community orchestra they have all four years. Vandy also has Blair Music School but my kid was a double major in Peabody (education) and chemistry

My kid is a music lover who isn’t majoring in music. Some schools allowed supplemental submissions for things like music during the application process and he submitted videos of him playing. I know one school commented on it in his admission email. Most schools he looked at had various opportunities for non majors to play in bands, groups, etc. he will audition for the school jazz band at his university, and will take classes at an institute of music near his school. Bottom line is that if you look I’ll bet you will find many different opportunities available almost whoever she goes.

Yale likes musical applicants and their music program is pretty good, may not be as strong as mentioned above.

Harvard and NEC and other musical schools in Boston have joint programs for 5 years to get a bachelor degree of your choice at Harvard and a master's degree from NEC or other musical schools, Columbia and Juilliard have similar programs. Your child needs to get in both independently.

Peabody is part of Hopkins, you can actually get a full tuition free fellowship from Peabody to get another major within Hopkins. Eastman has similar full scholarship within University of Rochester, and you can get another major there.
