Not sure why you have to be posting on here in such a bitter way about something that is on the level of water-is-wet.

That said, I don't get the hate. It has highly ranked schools, new homes, and seems fairly family friendly. Lots of kids, sports, walking trails, and shops nearby. I understand why people move there.
Why so angry, OP? Do you have kids?

We pay extra taxes to the town within TOV. Worth every cent based on snow removal and leaf collection alone. Pays for our trash--and they take almost everything, which is great! Also gives you discounted rates for community center camps/lessons, which we used heavily when my kids were young.

It's fine, but it is "provincial" in the sense that people make a conscious effort to be superficial and focus their attention on suburban activities like youth sports, the Madison band, and scouting. It's the type of place where it's bad form if you express your political views openly, but it's absolutely fine if parents ostracize other families whose kids aren't especially athletic. I was happy to leave.
