I've maintained an 80 pound weight loss for years.

The key for me was basic calorie counting and a higher protein/veg ratio vs starches. I don't deny myself anything. Treats and snacks are allowed. As is alcohol. You'll find as you change your eating habits, you won't eat as much. I can't eat anywhere near the portion sizes I used to be able to.

Be active in some way every day.

Find substitutions that work for you. Peaches with some goat cheese satisfy my cravings at the moment. I'll happily eat that instead of chips.

Successful weight loss is going to be slow and steady because you are changing your habits instead of doing quick fixes.
