That is just an advancing to executive level in any business, whether publishing or toilet paper.

I assume you started in sales or marketing and worked your way up?

And you are probably over 55, so started when publishing was in heyday in the 90s

I know two recent English majors who work as journalists, one at the LA Times and the other at The Atlantic.

Here are some I have known:

Several doctors
Lawyers
Head of nonprofit
Senior editor in publishing house
Editor of magazine you would know

All make upwards of $250K and some much more

Nah, they are totally right.

But it was only the children of the professional class (ie parents already were in those circles). Strivers who came from middle class might get hired for grunt work and kicked to curb year 3.
