Just put a sign. Small, laminated, on top of the tank. It’s fine.

Most people that live in the city are not on a Septic system. When wipes , tampons , sanitary napkins ,etc get flushed , they go into the septic tank and they don't break down. They also can destroy your leach field that can cost literally thousands of dollars .People in the city don't even think about a family or community septic system. In third world countries , in small villages , they don't even put toilet paper into the toilet ,just your pee and poop.They don't have the luxury of having a tru k pump their septic tank. They have to clean it by hand with shovel and bucket

I would have said "no sign necessary" until MORE THAN ONE person chimed in to say they flushed tampons.

tacky or not, I have a sign. We have grinder pumps and if tampons or wipes go down the pumps can seize up and it's a 1500-4000 fix depending on the circumstances of the damage.
(a few wipes are fine, but tampons can get bunched up and seize the impeller).
