Oh weird, I thought since this was DCUM it was DMV. We are in Maryland (Montgomery county but we can drive up to an hour).

Haven’t been to the wharf but looking for somewhere easy to park and non-chaotic.

The Waterfront metro station is a short walk to the wharf. My tween loves it - it’s a nice walk after the first couple of blocks because you see all the boats if you walk the right way. I prefer it to parking in the garage which is like $40+ l think. I wouldn’t call the wharf chaotic.

This is a DC area message board. "The waterfront" means the SW Waterfront. This post is specific.

Post doesn't say 'The waterfront'. And no that would not be SW Waterfront by default. Lots of waterfront dining areas in DC Area.

The Point Crab House in Arnold MD. Easy parking, great food, not too far from MoCo and right on the water.

I recommend Old Town. A couple of recommendations:

1. Jula’s on the Potomac - ask to be seated outside
2. Ada’s on the River - amazing salads. I still dream of a shrimp one that I had
3. Barca - honestly, not the best food, but when you say by the water, it’s hard to get closer than a shipping container on the water


A little farther down the river is Cedar Knoll. The views are amazing, the food…eh, I feel like it’s stuck in the 70s (I swear a salad had thousand island dressing on it) but they likely do a good Caesar.

True, you can find parking lots at both places, really. I don't know what the OP considers non-chaotic parking. I live in DC and am used to street parking; I find street parking in Georgetown easy but not easy at the Wharf.

OP here and by “non-chaotic” I mean you drive there, there’s a parking lot owned by the restaurant, you park, you go in. We went to Georgetown waterfront last year and the drive, the traffic, the parking, the crowds was all too much. Easily stressed out family.

Is this your first time going into DC or something?
