Our Samsung french door refrigerator is great - except for the icemaker which is why we will never buy another Samsung.

I love having an icemaker but the freezer on the bottom led to a curious design choice: the icemaker is in its own compartment inside the refrigerator. I suppose this is so they could dispense ice through the door. Anyway, the upshot is that the icemaker freezes up (irony!) and needs to be thawed out with an hair dryer every two weeks. Searching the internet I found this is very common and Samsung says it's "normal."

Thinking about a GE or Whirlpool next time.

We have one in a second house and it’s been great! We wanted a DCS like the one we have in our primary residence but apparently they aren’t sold in the U.S. anymore. Bosch was our next choice and we are happy with it.

Anyone with only bottom freezer ice cube tray? Does the ice taste ok being open to food in freezer?

Our 16 year old kitchenaid, that i loved, just died.. actually it wasn't dead but we decided to replace it because the repairs were costing too much.

Got a new kitchenaid.. don't love it yet.. has more storage on the door but seems everything else is tighter.
