Dr Fan is amazing! He did a beautiful job with my reconstruction with implants. Minimal scars that healed well. Very natural looking reconstructed breasts. So, so happy with their work.

Thank you. Do you have any sensations in your breast? I heard flap helps retain some sensation. But it requires a donor site.

I had a good experience with Dr Greenwalt, he and his care navigator Carmen made every effort to clear my path to surgery and its aftermath. I am now slowly moving towards surveillance mode. I think it's hard to gauge different centers if you're not a healthcare worker. I could definitely have fallen through some cracks without the navigator
I also had my surgery with Greenwalt. He was very clear with explaining my options, and didn't rush the consult. Plastics was also involved my surgery, so I expect they're responsible for the way my incisions turned out, which currently seems fine.

I just heard via portal message that my brilliant radiology oncologist Dr Jean Wright is leaving Sibley now.
Google shows she is the new Chair of radiation oncology at UNC. Sigh. But good for her.

Just wanted to put in a plug for Georgetown and Dr De La Cruz. Even my oncologist and the radiologist I saw post surgery could not tell which side I had my lumpectomy on when I saw them for post-op appointments. Also Georgetown told me about a new genetic test studies show can help predict whether you will benefit from radiation. it showed I had a very small risk of recurrence with or without radiation so I skipped it (this was for DCIS)

Both have been prominent breast surgeons around here for years. Dr. Sun did my surgeries when she was at Sibley and I thought she was awesome.
