It’s way more than 1/3 of Farquhar that joins them. It’s over 1/2 of Farquhar that goes on to Sherwood. You can tell by their perms and haircuts (at least the boys)

We are in the DCC. One of our kids went through school with some similar friends because he stayed in our home schools all the way thru. Another went to TPMS STEM magnet and then Wheaton STEM magnet and thus had different friends at every school, except for two friends who went to TPMS with him and one friend who went to Wheaton with him. It doesn't seem to bother him. The other wanted to "stay with his friends" so we let him but he did not receive as good an education as he could have if he'd been willing to apply out.

If you want to come all the way out to Damascus - you are pretty much guaranteed to stick with friends from elementary to high school. But it depends on the programs you are looking for as well to consider. Part of the issue with magnets is the kids all disperse after middle school.

Es will change as well. Just wait.

Sherwood, specifically the RPMS schools (Olney, Belmont, Greenwood). Not exposed to boundary studies, not part of the consortium, joined by about 1/3 of Farquhar when 9th grade begins. There are a fair number who peel off for OLGCHS but they’re still right in Olney.

+1 for Whitman, Wooton, Richard Montgomery, and maybe Winston Churchill HS. BCC may have kids leaving in middle amd high for independent schools more than the other four.

Don’t the BCC feeders split up and come back together at assorted points in ES and MS?

Not all the feeders. Only Rosemary Hills (K-2) has split articulation. About 3/5 go to CCES for 3-5, with about 2/5 going to NCC. They come back together (along with the English program at RCF) for MS at Silver Creek.

Most of the other elementaries in BCC don't split - they are K-5 and then MS.

Not most, all.
