The closer I look, the less I like it. It’s big but also weirdly small, and spaces like the kitchen and the “rec room” seem oddly dark and closed off.

I also think there’s a gigantic “bedroom” there that doesn’t have a full bath on the same level? I’m confused by the floorplans.

I think I prefer the smaller houses in this neighborhood that have better windows.

They bought for 1.1M in 2006 so they overpaid and are now dreaming they can double up. Should sell for 1.4 max.

Some hippies must have lived here.

Estate sales are helpful for getting an idea of what might be coming on the market soon

Looking at the photos, it looks like the rear yard slopes pretty heavily towards the home. There is a retaining wall (likely put there to divert water), but feels like it could be a liability. Add that to all the aesthetic stuff mentioned above and here we are. I feel like $1.4ish would be fair and leave enough room to handle the issues.

It's way too busy and eccentric. They should ditch the bright paint in the living areas and repaint with a warm white or beige.

What is the kitchen floor made of? Is that tile?

More basement than house?

Basically, the boomers that had the houses in Chevy Chase for 30 years didn’t bother to renovate them and thus they look god awful. No taste. Still straight out of a Sears catalog
