No not really, but they can make up things to get people worked up over nothing.
OK, classic Parents' Coalition then. I kind of *want* MCPS to charge a computer fee so I can refuse to pay and have my kids not use Chromebooks. Too bad.

They'll just have to charge you for textbooks and reams of paper instead. And your kid will hate you as they drag those books back and forth.

Hi Janis.
I am completely cool with use fees for things like band, sports, etc. I don’t want my taxes to be higher overall to pay for activities that don’t involve my child. Your petition is really stupid. What a strange hill on which to die.
So parents of kids who don't ride a bus shouldn't pay taxes to pay for buses and parents of kids who do ride the bus shouldn't pay taxes for crossing guards. Makes total sense.

But isn’t the PC saying that students will have to pay fees next year? From the OP: “Next year the board will be collecting fees from students and using that money to fund the operating budget.”
Whereas 22:52 is saying you can’t force students to pay fees: “you still haven't explained how student funds would be used to pay for this contract.
It's a contract. Payment would be due. How are you going to force students to pay for whatever this is?”
If it is the PC they are not making a good argument.
Of course they are not making a good argument, they never do. They are making things up. Nowhere is the resolution does it say anything about collecting fees or forcing schools to use IAF funds or transferring money from
IAFs to pay the contact.
Then why did the Board meeting just start with that one agenda item being pulled from the agenda?
So they could rewrite it using smaller words that you can understand and not misinterpret.
You have had unlimited opportunities to explain the resolution.
Now your excuse is that one person couldn't understand it and so the Board pulled it for one person?
What is your justification form MCPS administrators who don't provide written contracts to the Board and don't make Resolutions to support those contracts clear for everyone, Board and the public?

Already did, again your reading comprehension is concerning.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:22:52 is Parents Coalition and as usual they have no idea what they are talking about.
Then explain the resolution.
