Did either of those kids take the place of a faster swimmer that was eligible and available to swim in those spots?
Sure did.

For us, current season performance to date is what is considered. They use the ladder and the ladder starts new every season.
Is there any team using last season time other than maybe seeding a time trials?

So many kids are not available for this meet. We started on seeding and so many are being considered.
Holding out hope that this works in favor of my on the cusp 10 yo.
Same for my 7 yo who is 4th in an event! But not holding my breath. In our experience, the kids in the top 3 are usually the ones committed to summer swim and they don’t go out of town during the season.
11:46 here.
We have very few of those. We used to have more that wouldn't leave, but I think with school letting out right as the season starts, and then starting back up again soon after the season ends, people travel more during the NVSL season. It is what it is, but it does leave a lot of empty lanes.
