I was driving on highways by 17 and was not an outlier among friends and cousins - regardless of when you got married you should be capable of doing things like driving yourself anywhere you need/want to go.

Right now you trust a proven bully more than your own self, to take care of you. This is where traditional gender roles and dependence can lead.

This sounds more like a parent/child arrangement. He drives you to the sleep over and texts you to make sure you're doing ok?

What is your role here? Do you work? Why haven't you gotten driving lessons?

You need to grow up, OP.

I have tendencies like yours, and I know I have to fight back against them. Not because I want to divorce, but in the event my spouse is incapacitated, *I* will need to help him, and myself!

So I try my best to learn certain skills. Independence is very important.
