Muhlenberg has a lot of pre-meds, as well as theater and dance. They talk up their med and dental school placements.

Yes. I would say:

Lehigh, Bucknell

Lafayette, Dickinson, F&M

Gettysburg, Muhlenberg

That's based on what I know of acceptance rates AND the overall profile of the kids I know who've gone there.

There is lots of overlap between Bucknell and Lehigh. DCUM does not seem to like Lehigh, but I think it's great. The location is beautiful, with decent skiing not too far away. The kids I know who go there are extremely high achievers, and have gotten lots of opportunities at Lehigh. Bucknell is in the boonies. But its strengths are similar -- esp. business/econ.

My 2nd category is more liberal-artsy.

Muhlenberg is artsy-artsy.


Dickinson shouldn't be on the same tier as Lafayette. There's a decent-sized gap between these schools.

Here are the definitive tiers for the schools mentioned in this thread, with the schools in each tier listed in order of prestige:

Colgate

Lehigh, Bucknell, Lafayette

F&M, Gettysburg/Dickinson

On top, in a tier of its own. Also, Gettysburg is more comparable to Dickinson than to Muhlenberg.

I'm the mom of an incoming Lehigh freshman who was accepted there ED2. It *seems* (very few data points here) that they do yield protect in RD, based on my son's classmates who were WL/denied in the regular round (GPAs much higher than my kid). Alternatively, Ed2 kids get a massive thumb on the scale.

Third possibility is that both those things are true.
