I've lived in many houses in my life, some owned some rented, also apartments, at times owned a vacation house and a primary residence, lived in suburbs and urban areas and several different states. Right now I live in a 2/2 condo and it is the exact opposite of awful. It's awesome. Definitely not in Manhattan or Tokyo either.

Anonymous wrote:I dream of owning a condo one day, we have a SFH that has quadrupled in value, but it seems like weekly I have to deal with things like replacing a sewer line. I just want to pay an HOA and never think about it. Or a tiny house somewhere. I don't see it as a failure at all, people need to MYOB.

The condo is fine. It's more than fine -- you don't have to mow the yard yourself.
Or replace the roof and clean the gutters. Condos typically also handle snow shoveling if your area gets snow.
