Flowers are so boring and 'typical' women gift. It requires zero creditivity and thought.
Next someone will suggest candles or soap. Boring!

A check for $75 is just a pain to cash.
A woman who is a mother figure in my life sends me the standard “$50 inside a car” gift almost every time, I appreciate it very much.
But again, I am not rich and she has known me since I was a teen and $50 is probably still the same amount as it was in the 90s. Your DIL might be a bit offended. So yeah an Amazon gift card is best.
Cash can get stolen in the mail. Same for gift cards. Do a digital gift card instead.

I would much rather enjoy beautiful flowers than get more crap/stuff. I don’t care how nice the tea towels, mugs, chocolates, candles, lotion, perfume, or book is, I DON’T WANT MORE CRAP IN MY HOUSE.

Big reader here but I actually hate books. I get everything on my kindle (usually from the library) so it would be a miss for me.
