Sounds like trying to get a same day apt is a good potential and we can try that coming up in a few days. I’ll also look into some more expedited options.
While this really sucks, I’m thankful we didn’t figure this out on our actual travel date. Just imagine my husband not allowed to board and me sent off to take the kids to Europe for the first time by myself. Not sure if I’d laugh or cry! Wishing everyone a better start to your summer travels!
I am in Europe by myself right now.
And gave done it alone with a child many times.
Work on becoming more independent.
Your family is teaching your children out-of-date gender roles.

I feel your pain. Also, it's not lost on me that while your DH messed up, you're the one scrambling trying to fix the problem.
Hope everything goes smoothly from here on out.

Anonymous wrote:My idiot husband did the same thing last year. I would contact your senator asap. We’re in MD so it was Jamie raskin’s office and see what you can do. I would not try to do it through post office, it’s too late and could get lost in paperwork. I would try to get a same day appointment but they say if you’re traveling in x days.

We were in this situation twice (for teen kids). Our congress person’s office (Jamie Raskin) was super helpful. They helped us schedule same-day passport appointments.
Twice?! What a waste of a congress person’s office resources.
Many offices have dedicated people that handle passport issues.
So they pay a staff member whose job is to handle last minute passport requests?

Just be aware that depending on when your flight is, you won't actually get the passport on the same day. I had an appointment to get a passport yesterday, and since my flight isn't until next Thursday, they told me to come back on Monday to pick it up. It's likely only "same day" if you are literally flying out on the same day, or the following day. But I wouldn't put it off that long.
Oh wow! That’s good to know! Crazy to make the process so complicated. What if you lived an hour away? Bad experience to have to go twice. Safe travels to you!

Thanks! Wondering if your situation was within 14 days of travel or more than 14 days?
Anonymous wrote:Just use regular passport expedite! You will get it in time. There is no other service that will work. I had to use one to rush mine and it was $900 all in. Don’t be fooled! You don’t need it. Passport processing times are fine right now.
