Attorney files it with the state (or county, can’t remember which). We also gave copies to close relatives. Attorney said if everything else failed, one of the first things that’s done when someone passes away and relatives aren’t sure if there’s a will, is that the court can check if there is one on file. If there is, they’ll notify the relatives that a will exists, but not what it says (I think they have to file a petition to actually get a copy).
