This me… bmi 26

Many of the women pose with their legs crossed or in other slimming poses, which defeats the point.
My trainer is BMI 26 and she is gorgeous (I saw her wedding pictures - flawless). She’s just incredibly strong and has natural curves. Of course not all BMI 26 are like that but many of us pear-shaped ladies have very strong legs and arms but slim middles.
That's b/c BMI is garbage if you actually have muscle on your body.

At 63yo, I can live with his.

Yep, healthy for a fat person. Enjoy it because you're on borrowed time.
omg. 26 BMI assuming good diet and exercise is healthy; likely healthier than BMI 20 as you age. I’m 26.5 and my lipids and BP and a1c are perfect and I’m adding weight to my deadlift every month.
It's not a sharp cutoff, but the cutoff for what is considered healthy is 24.9. Of course a body builder will be over that but most of us aren't body builders. Adding weights as you age is just plain smart. It helps fight osteoporosis. However, being a higher BMI brings other risks. You may not see them now, but you will.
No higher bmi does not necessarily bring on other risks.
An obese BMI could.., have high blood pressure but only in 25% of obese people, could cause T2D but only in 30%.
Can’t even imagine how low those numbers are for a 27 BMI.

But you’re not obese.
If the guidelines shift to 27 then she would be, which is ridiculous. Frankly, BMI is a bunch of bs And my doctor says to ignore it. My BMI is 25 and I’m ripped. I am healthier at this size than when I was anorexic with BMI 20.
