eBay's a great way to make a little money off old things laying around the house that still have some value. But in terms of using eBay as a distribution channel for a business selling new things, I agree it'd be hard to earn a profit.

OP don't even try the ebay route I speak from experience it's a nightmare all the fees and all the people shopping there thinking you are amazon and if they complain about perfectly amazing brand new stuff they can get it for free.

It makes you feel good that you price out families who can’t afford your mark-up? Very unethical.

I track down hard-to-get items and re-sell. Years ago I did this primarily with sneakers, camping out the day before release, stuff like that. But the advent of online sales changed things, so I've had to adapt, so I do mostly "hot" toys around the holidays and video game systems. I still find it fun, though.
