This IS the hill I’d die in op. I’m with you. Nothing they wear to bed can be worn outside the house. Hard stop. No compromise. This includes Ugg slippers.

My middle school girls wear sweatpants.

I tell my kids no and they aren't leaving the house if they are not properly dressed.

You’d rather she wear shorts that show her bum and tiny tops that leave nothing to the imagination???

Reframe in your mind what makes pants = pajamas. And then realize how small the difference is (big picture wise) than what you’d prefer.

I will never understand the desire to police other people’s clothes.

At our large public high school, its more common for girls to wear leggings or sweatpants. The girls wearing pajamas are the ones who really don't care about school at all. YMMV.

The PJ pants are fine! They are comfy and cover everything. It’s what all the kids wear anyway and she’ll just want to fit in. As long as she isn’t sleeping in the pants she wore to school.
