3rd grade research paper with 5 paragraphs. It was on a famous person. Then they do it each year since then.

I think for my child it was 4th/5th - he had to write a 5 page research paper in 6th.

My 4th grader did it this year.

My kid was introduced to it in 5th grade but I would say she really learned it in 6th HIGH class, it went deeper. This was at MCPS.
