I just can't use social media and watch all this videos' of how kids have a real graduation in 8th grade. it breaks my heart because FCPS don't care about anyone beside high school seniors.


I had 3 kids go thru FCPS in the past 10 years and have NEVER not ONCE had reason to email the school board. What is WRONG with YOU??

I seen all this TikTok taking about the class of 2020 never had a 8th grade graduation, and this year they will be graduation for the first time since they graduated 5th grade. I’m here thinking FCPS never had one ever. They did a promotion ceremony when they were promoted to 7th grade, but they didn’t have any caps and gowns. It was a very small event only 2 family members were invited do the event. It’s sad that FCPS is stealing so much from our kids.

Sure have a celebration of some sort and dances, but cap and gown... Are we in "Little House on the Prairie" where they boys would leave after graduation to till the fields and and the girls to get married?

Social media is a disease, OP. If you are this influenced by social media, chances are you are failing at parenting. Meaning, you won’t be able to attend a 12th grade graduation, let alone an 8th grade graduation, because your kid will fail out. Put the phone down.

Our middle school has a field trip for the kids and a dance and an awards ceremony. There was also recently a large NJHS ceremony that included about 1/3 of the school.

This mother said her son dropped out of school because of this. He was 16, had to drop out because the Covid protocols he wasn’t going t9 wear a mask in school so he dropped out.
